What reviews say

My-laptop: “The Targus Numeric Keypad is far from an essential accessory. Still, we found it highly practical, well built and easy to use, making it the right option for the job.

“We tested it out on our Dell Studio 1558 review, which is an Intel Core i5 laptop with Windows 7 OS, and found the Targus Numeric Keypad worked exceedingly well. The placing of the arithmetic symbols can take a novice a little time to grow accustomed to and we would have liked to have seen larger symbols printed on them. However, this is a minor quibble.

“The Targus Numeric Keypad attaches to your laptop via USB and installs itself as easily as though it were an external mouse. It works with a whole host of apps, such as Microsoft Excel and Access, as well as Intuit QuickBooks and TurboTax.

“The keys on the Targus Numeric Keypad have a nice feel to them, so you don’t need to press too hard for them to register.”

Compkeyboard: “The most inconvenient thing that users always suffer when using laptop is the missing of a numeric keypad that you can find on regular full-size keyboard. Thank god, we now have the Targus Numeric Keypad which is so easy to use.

“The keypad is ideal for spreadsheet, accounting and financial software applications that require fast and accurate entry of numeric data, allowing simplicity for the data entry.”

Verdict

If you have to enter a lot of numeric data on your laptop, then the Targus Numeric Keypad could be a sensible purchase. It is easy to plug in, ergonomically well-designed, and small enough to slot into your laptop case comfortably. And it’s at a price that won’t break the bank.
